Sorry if I haven’t been posting a while, been busy. You might have seen my articles over on geek-haven.com, under the name of Shad. Yeah, that’s where I’ve been. Anyway, thought I’d restart this blog up again, so here’s what I’ve been doing lately.
No.1, Setting up a Media Server
Actually, this is an ongoing project, trying to get PS3 Media Server (pms-linux) functioning correctly on Ubuntu 10.10. Doing it on an old AMD Athlon isn’t helping much :P. However that should be done soon.
Specs of the hard working Server (it was my previous main machine)
AMD Athlon 64 3600+ 2.8Ghz
1GB DDR 400Mhz
ASUS A8Vn-VM-CSM Motherboard
Hard Drives:
80GB IDE 5400RPM (System)
320GB SATA2 7200RPM (Movies)
1TB 5400RPM SATA2 (TV Series, Pictures, Music)
All Drives formatted as ext4.
No.2 TAFE
Having done just about every IT Unit the TAFE does, I’m starting Cert4 Media. So some learning and complaining about ActionScript 3 and Blender in my Future :D
No.3 Work (kinda)
No.4 Getting a decent Phone
Yeah the Blackberry Bold 9000 is past it’s use by date, should be updating to a HTC Desire S sometime soon.
No.5-10 GAMING
Yeah…. I talk about this later, most of my articles on geek-haven.com are about this anyway :D
